Mayor Claire Larita said the boat MB Jovelle was en route from Patnanungan to the town of Real when it sank in the vicinity of Macnit in Polillo.
“Ligtas na po ang lahat ng pasahero/sakay ng bangkang Jovelle [All people on board the boat Jovelle are now safe],” she wrote in a social media post.Larita added authorities are now checking the condition of the affected individuals. The incident came exactly a week after the motorbanca Aya Express sank off Binangonan, Rizal on July 27. The tragedy killed 27 passengers, while 41 others survived.
