Akio Toyoda is coming to the Philippines. This was seemingly confirmed in a Facebook post on Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines .

The photo post reads, “Morizo is coming.” While the caption goes, “The Master Driver who pushed the limits on every track of life! Join us this August 2023 as we welcome a visionary who shaped Toyota’s motorsports legacy!” Morizo is the pseudonym of former Toyota Motor Corporation president Akio Toyoda. It’s the name he takes on whenever he’s behind the wheel. As such, he has participated at events including the 24 Hours Nürburgring race employing the pseudonym.

As an avid car enthusiast himself, Toyoda also approved projects including the GR Yaris—a car that he himself helped developed. Toyoda will likely grace the 35th anniversary celebration of Toyota Motor Philippines as well as a planned Gazoo Racing Festival on August 23.
