THE Public Attorney's Office (PAO) has deleted all its posts on social media particularly on Facebook, including those from officials and employees from its offices nationwide, as a conciliation gesture with the Supreme Court.

The high court had ordered PAO chief Persida Rueda-Acosta to explain why she should not be cited in indirect contempt over her 'social media posts and newspaper publications' regarding a provision of the newly-approved Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability that deals with the conflict of interest.Rueda-Acosta had apologized to Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and top magistrates.

Other key PAO officials, who decided not to be named, told this newspaper that they supported the decision of the PAO chief to delete all the statements posted on social media regarding their sentiments on the matter.'It's okay, that is a conciliation gesture with the Supreme Court magistrates,' they said.
