The active COVID-19 cases in the City of San Fernando surpassed 1,000 on Monday, Aug. 16, data from the city government showed.

In Pampanga province’s capital city of San Fernando, the number of active COVID-19 cases has reached the 1,000 mark as of Monday, Aug. 16.

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga— In its latest bulletin, the San Fernando government said it now has 1.042 active cases, including the 70 new infections logged on the same day.So far, San Fernando has registered 7,016 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 5,760 have recovered while 214 have died.

According to the city’s epidemiology and surveillance unit, at least 53,465 residents have been fully vaccinated against the viral disease as of Aug. 13. The number comprises 22 percent of the total 242,102 residents who are 18 years old and above.
