An eight-year-old boy shot his father dead at home on Wednesday night at Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
According to the police report, the 39-year-old father came home drunk and kicked his son. This triggered the child to take the gun, which is owned by his father, and shot him on the chest.Police Corporal Mark Mabayag, the case investigator, told CNN Philippines that the victim sustained two gunshot wounds based on initial investigation.
He noted that the wife of the victim was working in Manila when the incident happened. She just arrived in the province this afternoon, said Mabayag. He added that the victim’s wife also refused to have his husband’s body to undergo post-mortem examination. Mabayag added that suspect is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
