5 kilos of shabu seized in Tawi-Tawi

– Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Zamboanga peninsula , in tandem with other drug enforcement agencies, conducted Tuesday morning a buy-bust operation in this capital town, and arrested three alleged drug lords and confiscated from them five kilos of shabu worth P34 million.

PDEA-9 Director Edgar T Jubay said PDEA-9 operatives arrested three suspected drug dealers and confiscated from the illegal drugs at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.Jubay said their operation was complemented by PDEA Tawi-Tawi Provincial Office, together with PDEA-BARMM, the Marine Battalion Landing Team – 9 and the Bongao Municipal Police Station drug enforcement section.

The operations were in response to the reported frequent distribution and sale of the substance in the capital town. It was reported that the Bongao municipal government and the Tawi-Tawi provincial government was pretending blind to the proliferation of the substance in this capital town.Jubay said Violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of RA 9165 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
