A magnitude-4.6 earthquake rocked three provinces in Northern Luzon on Sunday morning, March 26. | ManilaBulletin

The moderately strong earthquake which occurred at 5:35 a.m. was tectonic in origin and caused by the movement of a fault line in the area.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded the quake at Intensity 4 in Bucay, Pilar, Villaciosa, Peñarrubia, San Isidro, Bangued, Bucloc, and Boliney, Abra; and Vigan City, Bantay, and Burgos, Ilocos Sur; Intensity 3 in Tayum, San Quintin, Tineg, and Dolores, Abra; and Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; Intensity 2 in Candon City, Ilocos Sur; and Intensity 1 in Batac City, Laoag City, and Pasuquin, in Ilocos Norte.
