A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck North Cotabato Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which occurred at 6:31 a.m., was tectonic in origin and was traced 13 kilometers norththeast of Tulunan, North Cotabato.

The quake had a depth of 10 km, with the following registered intensities: Intensity IV– Kidapawan City Phivolcs said the quake was also felt under the following instrumental intensities: Intensity IV- Kidapawan City; Intensity II- Tupi, South Cotabato; Intensity I- Alabel, Sarangani
