4.1-magnitude quake jolts Agusan del Norte

– A 4.1-magnitude earthquake jolted Agusan del Norte province Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 11:14 a.m. with the epicenter plotted 15 kilometers southeast of Remedios Trinidad Romualdez , Agusan del Norte province. The earthquake had a depth of 15 kms, Phivolcs said. Intensity 1 was also registered in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, said the state agency in its instrumental intensity.The Agusan del Norte provincial disaster risk reduction and management council here reported no damage or injury.

Meanwhile, at 11:19 a.m. on the same day, a magnitude-3 tectonic tremor was registered, and its epicenter traced 14 kms southeast of the same town and province, with a shallow depth of only 10 kms, Phivolcs said in its latest bulletin.
