MANILA, Philippines: The Department of Health (DoH), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) will form a committee to investigate alleged unethical marketing practices by pharmaceutical companies.

MANILA, Philippines: The Department of Health , Food and Drug Administration , and the Professional Regulations Commission will form a committee to investigate alleged unethical marketing practices by pharmaceutical companies.It comes after a Senate investigation found out that a pharmaceutical distributor, Bell-Ken Pharma Inc., was using a form of 'multi-level marketing' scheme in prescribing medicines to patients in exchange for commissions.

Also present were FDA Director-General Samuel Zacate and PRC-BoM Chairman Zenaida Antonio, as well as representatives from the Philippine Medical Association-Commission Ethics and the Philippine Hospital Association .Domingo said the joint committee will help reduce redundancy and expedite due process requirements regarding the many allegations aired at the Senate hearing.
