Twenty-six persons were rounded up by the police in Barangay 37, Reclamation Area here for alleged illegal activities.

TACLOBAN CITY — A policeman who acted as poseur was able to buy P5,000 worth of suspected shabu from Albert Pica, 43; and Celso Cañones, 39, residents of the area.Police seized three grams of suspected shabu worth P50,000.

Charges for violations of Sections 5, 7, 11, and 15 Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. Meanwhile, 22 persons engaged in illegal gambling were chanced upon by the police providing security in the area around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 10.Twenty one bettors were caught while the police recovered over P9,000 bet money and other pieces of evidence.

The suspects, together with the seized pieces of evidence, were brought to Abucay Police Station for proper disposition.
