232,890 vaccinated vs measles in BARMM

Health workers in Lamitan City and nearby towns in Basilan had administered anti-measles vaccine to hundreds of Muslim and Christian children since April 2, 2024.MANILA, Philippines — At least 232,890 children aged six months to nine years in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have been vaccinated against measles, the World Health Organization announced yesterday.

WHO regional director for the Western Pacific Saia Ma’u Piukala stressed that measles is one of the most contagious diseases.
