Of the 203 who violated the longer curfew hours, 167 were adults and 36 minors. Among adults nabbed 22 were fined and issued barangay citation tickets. Those who were not fined were given warnings.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the liquor ban, which is in effect from March 15 to April 4, was implemented to prevent gatherings that increase the risk of spreading COVID-19. Individuals who will violate the liquor ban will be fined P2,500 for the first offense, and P5,000 for the second and succeeding offenses.
Violators who are government employees will face administrative charges with penalties. Penalties for minors will be charged against their parents or guardians and those who are part of the local scholarship program may lose their grant.
