Two more employees of the Senate have tested positive for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Senate Secretary Myra Villarica on Friday said she was informed that a consultant of Senator Pia Cayetano and a staff member of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.’s office contracted the disease.

Villarica said Cayetano’s consultant, was seen in the last session day of Senate on March 11. The consultant was not required to report to work daily. Revilla’s staff member, on the other hand, went to the Senate last March 16, and was brought to a hospital in Imus, Cavite on March 22 due to an initial diagnosis of pneumonia.Villarica said the Senate medical team is now tracing those who had close contact with their infected employees.

On Thursday, the Senate officials announced that one of Cayetano’s staff tested positive for the coronavirus.Three of her colleagues have contracted COVID-19 and are now under isolation: Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
