MAGSINGAL, Ilocos Sur – Eighteen more packs of shabu were found by five fishermen from this town while fishing on the West Philippine Sea in the province of Ilocos Norte on Wednesday afternoon, June 26.
These contraband were fished out hours and days after similar items were discovered by fishermen in the towns of Caoayan and San Juan, this province.Police Capt. Rodel Ragasa, chief of police here, said that according to the five fishermen from this town – three from Barangay Puro, one from Barangay Alangan, and one from Barangay Miramar – they found these items about 42 nautical miles west of Ilocos Norte.
The five fishermen immediately reported their discovery to the chairman of Barangay Puro upon returning to shore. The barangay chairman in turn relayed this to the police here.
