The reported death toll due to Typhoon KardingPH has increased to 12, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday.

In its report, the NDRRMC said the fatalities are reported in Central Luzon and Calabarzon. Of the 12 deaths, eight have been verified so far:one in Baliuag, Bulacan due to drowningMeanwhile, the reports on the following fatalities have yet to be verified, according to the NDRRMC:one death in Zambales due to a motorcycle accident

A total of 911,404 people or 245,063 families are affected by Karding in 1,759 barangays in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, and Cordillera, the NDRRMC said. Due to the typhoon, 56,916 houses sustained damage — 50,025 partially and 6,891 totally — in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Cordillera.

For infrastructure, the NDRRMC said P23,947,400 worth of damage was reported in Ilocos, Mimaropa, Bicol, and Cordillera.
