MANILA, Philippines — Twelve persons have so far tested positive for coronavirus as senators and their staff undergo a rapid test in the Senate before it resumes its session on Monday.

“Yes. Twelve as of now. Out of almost 500 tests,” Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said in a text message when asked if the rapid tests yielded positive results.At least three senators had already tested positive for the virus: Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Aqulino “Koko” Pimentel III, and Sonny Angara.
