BACOLOD CITY: At least 11 persons were reported dead while four were critically wounded in a vehicular accident involving a truck that lost its brake along a national highway in Barangay Paniabonan, Mabinay, Negros Oriental, on Wednesday afternoon, February 21.According to initial investigation by the Mabinay Police Station, the truck — traveling toward Mabinay — lost its brake, overturned and rolled over at a deep cliff at Sitio Tubod in Barangay Paniabonan.
As a result, its passengers — mostly livestock agents — were thrown off the vehicle while some were pinned down, initial investigation showed.At least 11 passengers died on the spot while four others sustained wounds and were rushed to the Mabinay Medical Clinic by rescuers.Mabinay police identified some of the victims as Junjun Mejos, Fely Decipulo, Lindon Decipulo Jr., Rodnick Decipulo, Dodoy Mejos, Allan Flores, Nelwin Vilando, a certain Leo, Jimboy and Marlon.
