Any barangay in the City of Manila which will register no new coronavirus cases from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31 will receive a ₱100,000 incentive from the local government, Mayor IskoMoreno says

— Any barangay in the City of Manila which will register no new coronavirus cases from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31 will receive a ₱100,000 incentive from the local government.

“Ang goal natin ay zero COVID-19 infection for two months sa barangay, and I believe that you can do it," he told the city's 896 barangays. [Translation: Our goal is to have zero COVID-19 infection for two months in our barangay, and I believe that you can do it. We are going to appropriate ₱89.6 million, because our goal, hopefully, is that we will each strive to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.]

IskoMoreno Better reward interventions and/or innovations on COVID-19 contact tracing, management, and prevention rather than the absence of new cases.

IskoMoreno What if this results into less reporting of the virus? be careful of what we incentivise

IskoMoreno Ahhhh I'm not really sure this is a good idea

IskoMoreno How will you check if they are not just hiding real cases from the brgy level?

IskoMoreno Zero covid 19 cases...but maybe they just report very bad flu 🤧 instead just to collect the 100k. Needs to be very very closely monitored

IskoMoreno In this country, anything that involves money as a motivation is bad news.

IskoMoreno Sounds like a strong incentive to not report cases...

IskoMoreno baka naman hindi na magsabi ng totoo ang mga taga barangay para lang makakuha ng 100,000.

IskoMoreno No tests, no infection. Simple.

IskoMoreno not a good idea. they will under report the cases.

IskoMoreno Full video

IskoMoreno Wont they just hide it? Lmao, not really a good way to promote vigilance or care that there might be unreported cases of covid

IskoMoreno meron man o wala, from sept. 1 to oct. 31 baka walang brgy mag report ng covid 19 cases makakuha lang ng 100k 😠

IskoMoreno Sadly this will be open to abuse, and let's be honest, with the current rate of positive cases there's very little chance of having to pay out...

IskoMoreno This might lead to non-testing and hiding of cases? I hope that a certain % of testing and proof contact tracing are required?

IskoMoreno Yorme IskoMoreno pano ang verification nito? Lamo naman human nature, baka i hokus pokus lang ng kapita sabihin wala na yun pala tinago lang, pera pera yan e..

IskoMoreno Wow! Mayor Isko for President! I will vote you for 2022 should you run!

DOH slammed for misinformation on COVID origin in PH - Manila BulletinSen. Nancy Binay rebuked the Department of Health (DOH) Sunday for twisting facts and sowing misinformation on the origins of COVID-19 in the Philippines and how it started spreading in the country. They just wanted to shift the blame for not doing a lockdown early just like the best performing countries in Asia such as Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea and Thailand to name a few. It's ok to admit mistake in managing the fight against Covid but to claim otherwise makes it glaring! SenatorBinay do u understand what genome sequencing is? Are u an expert now on infectious disease? EdselSalvana can u please educate this most low IQ senator we have on the study of genome and the science of it. But then maybe her brain is too small for it..
