City Administrator Em Ang says the zero backlog in extractions is vital in lowering the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

One hundred percent of Bacolod City's 849 active cases are in isolation facilities to lower the risk of infection among families, Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, head of the City’s Extraction Cluster, told reporters on Friday, August 6.City Administrator Em Ang, Emergency Operations Center-Task Force , said the zero backlog in extractions is vital in lowering the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

"The Extraction Cluster's performance has greatly contributed in lowering our COVID-19 cases recently,” said Ang. She also acknowledged the roles of the city's legal team, the Liga ng mga Barangay, the Bacolod City Police Office , the Isolation Facilities Cluster, and Information-Education Cluster. The EOC Contact Tracing Cluster head Dr. Rosalie Deocampo earlier warned that stressed delays in extracting and isolating individuals positive of COVID-19 increases the risk of infecting 90 percent of these patients’ household members.
