TEN Chinese nationals were rescued during a joint operation of the National Bureau of Investigation’s Central District Office and Central Visayas Regional Office on Wednesday evening, September 20, 2023, from their rented house in Villa Lusia Park, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

Executive officer for operation Bienvenido Panican of the National Bureau of Investigation Central District Office in Mandaue City, said that the location where the Chinese nationals were rescued was also the place where they engaged in unlawful activities. Panican informed the media during a Facebook live broadcast by NBI-CEBDO that the suspects had been unlawfully imprisoned by their employer since September 5, 2023.He added that with the aid of Nerviola and monitoring, they were able to locate the Chinese nationals.

According to the NBI’s report, Wie was able to transmit Nerviola some images of him that showed physical damage.
