1 of 2 LPAs inside PH may intensify into a tropical depression within 48 hours — PAGASA

One of the two low pressure areas inside the country’s area of responsibility is likely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Saturday, Oct. 23.“This LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical depression and may dissipate while traversing over Visayas,” it pointed out.

“Under these conditions, isolated to scattered flooding, including flash floods, and rain-induced landslides are possible especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps,” PAGASA warned. It advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take appropriate measures and continue monitoring PAGASA’s updates regarding these weather systems.
