One person was killed while three others were wounded in a shooting incident perpetrated by a lone gunman in a private wharf meters away from a police and military checkpoint here on Monday, Jan. 16.

ZAMBOANGA CITY –

The wounded were identified as Mohammad Taha Panolera Saddalani, 26; Albasar Abdul Amiril, 37; and Saramae Panolera Saddalani, 35. The victims were standing near the main gate of Taha Wharf when a man on board a motorcycle parked near them and suddenly fired at them twice. He shot the group two more times before escaping on his motorcycle.

Victims were taken to a hospital where a certain ‘’Philix’’ was declared dead on arrival due to a bullet wound. The remaining victims are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Police have yet to find out the motive for the shooting but are conducting pursuit operations for the arrest of the gunman.
