The government is still optimistic that it can reach its 1.5 million daily inoculation target starting next month, ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

on Wednesday, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. expressed confidence in this new goal after local governments agreed to scale up their vaccination rate.

He noted that administering booster shots and third doses for the priority sector will also start next month. Galvez said the expanded vaccine drive for children aged 12-17 next week will definitely get them closer to this objective, since there are 12.7 million children under this age group that are eligible for inoculation."I believe ang target na 1 million more or less, baka November 10,"

he said."Then we will try to scale it up November 15 to end . We really have to scale up during November[Translation: I believe our 1 million target will be reached more or less starting Nov.10.
