The bike track is hailed 'awesome' by professionals and loved by the children trying it out.
Fans of thrills on two wheels have flocked to a new track to test their skills. A pump track has opened in Kesgrave, Suffolk, offering BMX and mountain bikers, among others, the chance to scoot along a purpose-built outdoor facility .
Pump tracks use rollers, banked turns, and flowing features that allow riders to generate momentum through body movement rather than pedalling. Cyclist Ross Tricker, who attended the opening, said: "We built jumps around the woods in this area in the '90s, but it's great to see a facility that's permanent, for all these kids to enjoy - it's amazing.
"Milton Keynes-based extreme mountain biker Jono Jones was at the opening to give it a try and said: "This is awesome - look at how many people have turned up, just from the local area. "There's no barrier to entry, people turn up on skateboards, scooters and bikes - everyone can have fun here, and the sport's been so good to me. "Some of the children in attendance described the new facility as a real "adrenaline" rush and "all good".
The track was funded by a local businessman, Guy Nicholls, who said he was always "roaring about on a bike as a kid".
