The North Baltimore School District’s transportation director says a school bus aide is no longer riding on buses after a 14-year-old student accused the aide of choking her.
NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - The North Baltimore School District’s transportation director says a school bus aide is no longer riding on buses after a 14-year-old student accused the aide of choking her.
The student called 911 moments after the alleged incident, telling the dispatcher she had been attacked by an “adult lady. ” The victim’s mother says her daughter was getting off the bus when the bus aide’s daughter tried to punch her. The teen swung back and got off the bus. The bus aide then allegedly followed her off the bus and grabbed her.
The dispatcher asked the girl whether she was hurt. The student’s mother says the bus aide’s daughter has been bullying her child for months and that the school knew about it. The district has not confirmed that claim. The school district released a statement saying the matter remains under investigation.
“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, I am unable to provide additional details or comment on personnel matters, allegations, timelines, or investigative procedures,” the statement said. “This is the only information I will be providing at this time. ” Police say they cannot comment because the investigation is ongoing. The police department has sent the case to the prosecutor’s office to determine whether any charges should be filed.
