In a press release issued to newsmen on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Mohammed Shehu said the Commissioner visited the facility to ensure its safety and security in view of the prevailing insecurity challenges in the country.
Shehu said, “The Commissioner of Police while going round the facility assured the Comptroller of the Correctional Service that the Police is fully committed to the security and safety of all correctional centres in the state. “The Commissioner added that his office is always open to approving any security request regarding correctional facilities.”
