The two YPP defectors were Iheanacho Nwogu, representing Osisioma North State Constituency, and Fine Ahuama, representing Osisioma South State Constituency. They have said that leaving their former party was to enable them to join the state ruling party, which has Dr Alex Otti as the governor, and to make democracy deeper at the grassroots for the benefit of their constituents.

They specifically cited the taking off of the Geometric Power Plant and several road projects that the governor had executed in their constituencies in Osisioma, as well as the recent flag-off of Osisioma-Ekeakpara Road, describing the road as one of Otti’s signature projects in their constituency. In the motion, which was supported by the Chief Whip of the House, Perkins Umukoro, Sapele, and unanimously adopted by the House, the suspended lawmaker was alleged to have willfully and falsely perverted the proceedings of the House on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.Before flagging, please keep in mind that Disqus does not moderate communities.
