“A combined reading of Section 221 of the 1999 Constitution as the pronouncements of the Supreme Court in Faleke v. INEC is clear in holding that it is the political party that stands for election, that votes scored in election belong to the political party and that the candidate nominated to contest at an election by his party, acts only as the agent of his party.
“The PDP also cautions members of the National Assembly as well as members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, not to allow themselves to be pushed into losing their seats as the provisions of the constitution is very clear in barring lawmakers from cross carpeting, except in a situation of a division in the political party upon which platform they were elected.“The PDP hopes that Matawalle as well as members of the National and State Assembly from Zamfara State will take caution.
“Meanwhile, the National Working Committee has approved the dissolution of the Zamfara State Executive of the party. The decision is in line with the provision of Section 29 of the PDP Constitution 2017 . “All party leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party in Zamfara state should, by this, be guided accordingly.”
What about does that defect to PDP
The Party should go beyond rhetoric and proceed to Court.
PDP, have you woken up?
The defection of these guys should lead to lossing their seat. They are voted on a platform, they shouldn't be able to defect while that mandate is still valid ...the party won the election not just the Individual...
OfficialPDPNig is expected to go to court and retrieve their mandate from Bellomatawalle1 and it should be done ASAP else expect more to join the train.
Is better start taking action about that he suppose to step down first so he can contest in APC
Story. Is he the first. Umahi,Ayade etc have done it, what did you guys do. You're all the same
Cock and bull story. OfficialPDPNig is not just the opposition party Nigeria needs at this moment
For these people sighting Obaseki and Ortom defection to OfficialPDPNig as the same for Umahi, Cross River and Zamfara state, they seems to lack common sense. Ortom and Obaseki decamped during an election.
It has been declared by Supreme court in Amaechi's case that the party owns the mandate. Let OfficialPDPNig go to court to challenge this.
But those cross carpeting from APC to PDP can do that on their manadate....jokers
Lol. Yeye opposition. Eboyi and Cross Rivera nko
Gandoki the great story teller...
Parties should develop balls and wrestle these offices from these ingrates and political harlots . There is no division in PDP . So under what bases is he leaving ? Take him to court and get your mandate from him . Simple .
GETAT.... as if an APC Governor defected to PDP you'll condemn him/her to go drop the mandate..... You guys are 6 and half a dozen. Getat!
Confirm! The clash of titans
Point of correction he is taking the mandate back to where it really come from
This is the reason APC may win next election, Nigeria politicians are power hungry motherfucker they always defect to ruling party, the same problem will have with PDP then is what we are experiencing with APC In paper we are multi party system in reality is just APC and others.
😂😂😂😂
Bird of the same feathers 🪶
Supreme Court Mandate, lol
Hmmmm, shameful
Someone that took the mandate out of nothing. Ok oooo.
But an APC can decamp with their mandate to your party. Someone like Obasike 😂😂😂😂😂😂
When Obaeeki joined your party with APC mandate, you people celebrated it. It's now your turn you are shouting. We are just tired of all of you people.
Talking nonsense
Why won't men of honour retire from position where the choices have changed... Matawalle has no honour
But Ortom can defect with APC mandate. Abeg shift
Awon were, obe ti ba won nidi
