Slovak Presidential Election,Zuzana Caputova

Slovakia will on Saturday hold a final round of a presidential election that will see pro-Western diplomat Ivan Korcok face

off against Ukraine-sceptic parliament speaker and government ally Peter Pellegrini .

A Slovak with distant Italian roots, Pellegrini was born on October 6, 1975 in the central city of Banska Bystrica to a car mechanic father and a teacher mother. Pellegrini was prime minister from 2018 to 2020 when his long-time ally Fico was toppled following the murders of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancee.

Born on April 4, 1964, Korcok grew up in Banska Bystrica. His mother was a nurse while his father worked as an ambulance driver. Korcok lost the backing of the Hungarian minority in Slovakia when, as foreign minister, he criticised the Hungarian government of Viktor Orban. Copenhagen's libertarian Christiana neighbourhood, an old hippie paradise tainted in recent years by drug trafficking violence, is clearing out its famous Pusher Street, where cannabis used to be sold freely.Less than 24 hours after a hike in electricity tariff, Nigeria's power minister Adebayo Adelabu said Nigerians were responsible for the epileptic power supply in the country. Adebayo said many people took advantage of the cheap tariff to waste power supply.
