The NCDC tweet came a few hours after the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control had announced its approval of chloroquine for ‘clinical trial’ in the management of coronavirus.
NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, on Friday made the announcement in Lagos, even as she warned that the drug should not be used as antimalarial. Adeyeye said the first batch of chloroquine was manufactured for use in Nigeria by May & Baker Pharmaceuticals Plc two weeks ago. “NAFDAC will give emergency approval for manufacture of chloroquine and any other products which have documented scientific evidence of efficacy in prophylactic or treatment in any population,” Adeyeye added.

WHO hasn't approved it but that doesn't mean it doesn't have positive effect on Covid-19, at leaset there are two different clinical trial from a group of researchers in China & another one in France on the possibility of chloroquine curing the Covid-19. Covid-19 Chloroquine
