Media chiefs in the country have said the media won’t be deterred by the directive of the Federal Government that the media should not divulge “details” of the activities of bandits, terrorists and kidnappers in their reports.
They advised the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , to tackle the security challenges in the country and desist from its attempts to gag the media through the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed. The letter titled, ‘Newspaper Reviews And Current Affairs Programmes: A Need For Caution’, was signed by the Director, Broadcast Monitoring, Francisca Aiyetan, on behalf of the new Director-General of the Commission, Balarabe Ilelah., partly reads, “Headlines of most newspapers on a daily basis are replete with security topics.
“Not giving details of either the security issues or victims of these security challenges so as not to jeopardise the efforts of the Nigerian soldiers and other security agents.”
Great!
Look at their faces like terrorist. Useless Media
Godswillluv Buhari! Buhari! This government wants to repeat the same thing Abacha (may he never rest well) did, you want to force the Media into hiding and then allow propaganda take over Nigeria so that you can debunk every news that doesn't suit your governance easily.
Neither can the masses stop!
If the networks provider's in Nigeria agree in one hand like this twitter will still be working perfectly in Nigeria.
Just wondering if it's constitutional or within the statutory powers of NBC to instruct media houses what they should or should not report. I would have said Nigeria was on a slippery slope but frankly its near the bottom of the slope right now.
That’s what I want to hear. The whole country are behind you. Let’s face this evil government head on.
A government that doesn't want terrorism and banditryreported should be awake to its responsibilities and prevent them from happening. It is not rocket science.

When all has been said and done, NBC DG and all who assisted Buhari to make a mockery of this great nation, with Buhari himself, shall cool their feet in jail
How on earth will a govt tell Journalists not to report when there's an attack by terrorists?
Currently available for any nice deal.
Nigeria Islamic government want to stop reporting terrorists attacks while sponsoring terrorist to kill because of their jihadists believe.
Pls don't stop
Buhari is a terrorist and he want us to stop reporting his brother for killing us
If you don't report doom as a press association to the bloom of the enemies of the State, how would your business blossom? In this 'Buhari regime' that hardly spend shishi on the media 😅
Okay.

Nigeria 🇳🇬
The fundamental role of the press is to 'tell the truth.' Mr. Lai Mohammed please take note sir.
Just imagine government
See how Nigerians treat their leaders only to be thrown under the bus..pls support a hustler..
So, they want to silence them in reporting the attack so that people we be caught unaware and not to know the danger zone because this government had been conquered by the terrorist..
That's the spirit
So they actually want you all to stop reporting attacks! 🤦♂️
We lovers of democracy are solidly behind you in words, prayers and deeds. Do not succumb to the threats of Buhari and his minions.
