Stakeholders in Cross River State have said they are no longer happy with the old generation of politicians in the state.

Speaking at a meeting of a group of concerned Cross River indigenes under the aegis of the Fresh Hope Movement, the stakeholders said they were tired of old politicians and would not likely cast their votes for them at the next election. Inah said, “I have been around for decades and as a former editor of a state-owned newspaper, I have assessed the politicians that emerged since 1999 and would say that another set of young politicians should come up with fresh ideas to lift our beleaguered state.

Also addressing journalists at the meeting, Hogan Ita who nurses a governorship ambition, said he is not too young to contest the election, stressing that it is not by age but the ideas and a strong will.“For you to rescue the state, I don’t think anyone who has been involved in the downfall of the state will have the brain to rescue it.Ita said governorship is not any herculean task because “we are created to perform tasks. Our State is peculiar and it needs a special person to liberate it.
