Bishop Kukah,Tinubu

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, on Wednesday, met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja. Speaking with reporters shortly after the meeting, Kukah expressed sadness over the economic hardship bedeviling the nation at the moment.

The clergy, who opined that Nigerians are currently in a very difficult situation, however, said some of the pains being endured by citizens are unintended. Asked to assess President Tinubu 's one year in office, Kukah said, 'One year is not enough to make a judgement. 'However, from where we all stand, we know that we are in a very difficult situation. 'Nigerians are in various levels of pain and there are pains that are unintended.

'We are in a very difficult time and nobody should be under any illusion. We need to commit ourselves to the fact that building a good society takes a lot of time. It is not something that is done in one lifetime. 'The most important thing is for us to continue on the building blocks on the things that we think are being done well.
