Reaction have trailed comments by The Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr Chris Ngige, suggesting that the mass exodus of doctors from Nigeria is not a thing to loose sleep about.
Chris Ngige had on Wednesday, said that he is not bothered about the decision of medical doctors who choose to leave Nigeria to practice outside the country.said the practice is not alien to Nigeria, because he was taught by Indians in secondary school., if we have a surplus, we export. I was taught Biology and Chemistry by Indian teachers in my secondary school days.
“They are surplus in their country. We have a surplus in the medical profession in our country. I can tell you this. It is my area, we have excess. We have enough, more than enough, quote me.” Nigerians in reaction to the minister’s comments have taken to social media to air their views on the subject matter, with many holding views at variance with Ngige’s claim that the nation has a surplus of medical doctors.
This man is confused
I thinks our Doctors are containers.
the other one
hello
its alright this is buharis regime every thing is possible.
Mr Ngige you are talking out of sense.
No leave him! Very soon he'll be the only doctor in Nigeria.
Honour minister, who told u that? Please visit some maternity centre first, before u arrived at your statistics
Hon. Minister Sir, u ought to resign from office for making this kind of statement publicly. The FG health policy is yet to encapsulate the rural areas of the 774 LGAs. The primary healthcare facilities in the rural areas are in shamble, the General Hospitals too. Not enough Docs
Foolishness at d the highest
I think he is right, but only because of the standard of healthcare he thinks Nigeria deserves. He wants 1 doctor to continue to see 200+ patients per day, compromising both his/her health and patient care. We really offended someone in this country. WHAT RUBBISH!!!
Yes that's true we need more professional doctors
We need REAL doctors, not the QUACKS parading themselves as doctors! Chris is a joker, BIGTIME!
Ngige is out of tune with reality due his long absence from the practice of medicine. He has completely forgotten how to apply statistics in medicine. Politics has turned his head upside down.
Nonsense talk
With the nonsense that is going on this country I can't allow my own son to accept Nigeria unappreciated efforts of doctors. You people should not blame him for that statement
Like seriously.
This is an insane statement if he did say it, or in the context it’s being portrayed.
Who is blaming him before? Do they patronise Nigerian hospitals? Remember the commander in chief spent 104 days in a London hospital where the Aso Rock state house clinic can not boast of paracetamol.
Didn't expect dis from u
You don't need more doctors but more awareness and a total change in your belief system. There is actually an inverse relationship between money spent on healthcare and wellness in the US.
How can a minister be this ignorant about common Ratio. Even a cowbellpedia contestant knows better. lifeless kakakisocial
Channels TV have started Next level 'Chris ngige was misqouteed'
Oga, go and sit down
My no. One dislike for this govt is the caliber of people that form the cabinet, these are people that should be in their villages enjoying their retirement with farming activities to keep them busy. Fatigue has set in their brains n the performance is far below the average.
all this old Roger need rest
Let's begin to X-ray his achievements in all the Agencies under his ministry. Let's determine whether Ngigi deserves another chance.
As this man how many doctors do we have in Nigeria he doesn’t know. Nigeria is in trouble with minister like this man. Our doctors are over worked Mr. Ngige!
