Chairman of Warri Wolves FC, Neville Bekederemo, told The Guardian, yesterday, that the club would do its best to win the match in Awka. He said: “A win will take us to 31 points and second on the table. But that will depend on the outcome of the home match involving Inter Lagos.” Meanwhile, the NNL board has announced Enugu as host of this year’s Super Eight playoff billed to hold from May 23 to 30, 2024.
“We at the NNL are grateful to the governor and the commissioner of sports for this kind gesture and we promise all the participating teams that they will be treated to the best of hospitality that the Coal City is noted for,” he said. The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday announced the appointment of Finidi George as the new Super Eagles head coach. The NFF said George's appointment followed the recommendation of its Technical and Development Committee to appoint the new head coach.
Brazilian defender Thiago Silva will leave Chelsea at the end of the season after a "dream" four-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
