Four police officers have been detained in Lagos State for alleged extortion of a yet-to-be-identified resident.
The Lagos State Police Command made this known in a statement titled, ‘Viral video: Lagos CP condemns extortion, orders arrest of officers’. In the statement issued by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, the arrested officers were said to be facing disciplinary actions. Part of the statement read, “Attention of the Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to a video going viral on social media exposing some Police officers in Maroko police Division extorting money from a citizen.
