The forms were submitted on his behalf by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, and some members of the Senate.
Political associates of the Senate president had paid N100m to purchase the forms on May 9, saying the country needs a “Nigerian president” and not one given to ethnic proclivities. Defending his presence at the APC Secretariat, Uzodinma explained that the delegation volunteered to return Lawan’s N100 million forms in the name of ‘esprit de corps.’
