BREAKING: Court orders forfeiture of Saraki’s Ikoyi houses

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the forfeiture of two properties in Ikoyi belonging to former Kwara State governor and ex-Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Justice Mohammed Liman made the temporary forfeiture order following an ex parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC said the landed property “lying and known as No. 17A McDonald Road, Ikoyi,” was reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activity.

The EFCC lawyer, Nnaemeka Omewa, said the court was empowered to order the temporary forfeiture of the landed asset to the Federal Government. After ordering the temporary forfeiture of the property, the judge directed the EFCC to publish the order in a national newspaper. He gave 14 days for Saraki or anyone interested in the property to appear before him to show cause why the property should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.

Interesting ......

Well done

One sided justice that only focuses on none APC party people.

iykimo Praise be his name; they brought the disaster upon and the tyranny of this govt must go round.

This country is a complete joke. What happens to the other thieves in APC?

Has d game stared?

Nothing will happen the court oga is your friend so nothing will happen

This kind of 'roforofo'fight must not stop until Y'all forfeit all the looted properties and wealth back to government....May God append his signature to this...🙏🙏🙏

Mtchwwwww.

Nigerian courts are evil.

Saraki maintains that the court was misled by EFCC NaDem MBuhari ProfOsinbajo NotMyPresident

Na wahoo 🤔🤔🤔

The sweat and souls of victims of Societe General Bank have refused to rest in peace.

What happened to Panama papers.... Savannah bank.. budget padding ....... Ofa robbery ?

I'm thinkin what will happen to APC and these people when they leave Aso rock in 2023

What is Ikoyi houses from what happened to Trade bank and Society General bank.?

They will soon be out of office and the whole truth about their Government will be exposed, time will tell

The investigation relied upon by the CCT was conducted by EFCC. The ruling by the Supreme Court was that EFCC relied on hearsay&falsehood petition, not alone on the general count charges but stressed more on this Ikoyi property. EFCC wants to reframe the law with ex parte order?

Meanwhile the EFCC have not gotten any justifiable reason to investigate the vans that were displayed on the eve of elections talkless of the billions of dollars discovered at Ikoyi residence just to name a few!

It's just that there is no regard for rule of law in Nigeria but eye services being rendered both by most of the judges and the anti-graft agencies to pay -masters. This guy was investigated throughout his tenure as senate president but was found clean.

Catalyst4eva Nice one

Abeggi

APC at work with our remote controlling judges

Everytime Buhari travels out of Nigeria, there is always a hit to the opposition

🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙉🙉

You mean PDP can't help this guy eeya oma se o.

This is just the beginning 🤔

Karma! He got his chances but missed it. He was there with Buhari in 2015. Buhari withdrew $462m from Excess Crude Account without approval for procurement of 12 Super Tucano aircraft, a blatant violation of Constitution, he did nothing. He also will get sense by Forfeiture.

What goes around comes around I suppose. When you can't beat them...

This deserved a censure from all meaning Nigerians. A total witch-hunt.

Witch-hunting at it peak. If saraki renounces his allegiance to PDP and joins APC, then the probing will end and they might ask him to forfeit a little portion of the embezzled funds. As was seen in the case of Godswill Akpapio who is now an APC member.

Headline not complete! Court ordered temporary forfeiture of 2 houses belonging to Saraki based on grounds the properties where acquired with proceeds of unlawful activity. A public notice is to be issued so persons can show good cause to stop Permanent forfeiture of d houses.

Na them.

Normal level.

Hmmmmm. Good to know, but extend it to 'your own' to!!

Hmmmm Rubbish Well What goes around Comes around AsiwajuTinubu A_Oshiomhole get Ready

Nigeria is making history. This government letting justice take its course on the 'untouchables'
