UNIPORT’s ‘No payment, examination charges’ Policy: We’re not being Wicked – VC vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

PORT HARCOURT – THE University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, yesterday said court dismissal of students’ suit against its policy of ‘No Payment of Charges, No Examination” was proof that management was not being wicked in introducing the policy.Vice Chancellor of UNIPORT, Ndowa Lale, noted this at the varsity Senate’s briefing to unveil activities marking the 32nd Convocation for 9452 graduands including 106 who have bagged First Class in various discipline.

He said, “Despite initial setback, the university recently floored the misguided students in their won case. The heart of the argument was whether UNIPORT had statutory right to set rules and discipline erring students who infringe terms of their admission.” He further said, “We have resisted the temptation to revel in triumphalism even as the court resolved the argument in our favour. We are talking about charges of N45,000 and you have a window to pay in installment over the two semesters.
