At least a total of eight countries have qualified for the Round of 16 stage of the ongoing 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.Ecuador thrashed Fiji 9-0 in their final Group B stage fixture, while Uzbekistan defeated Guatemala 2-0 in their final Group A stage fixture.

In other matches played on Friday, the host nation, Argentina, thrashed New Zealand 5-0 and the USA defeated Slovakia 2-0. Following the outcome of Friday’s group stage matches, Ecuador qualified for the last 16 with six points from three matches, while Uzbekistan advanced with 4 points from the same matches.

They joined the likes of Argentina, England, Nigeria, Colombia, USA and Gambia in the Round of 16 stages.The Round of 16 fixtures will commence next week.
