Health workers have deployed a robot in a Tunisian hospital caring for coronavirus victims to limit contact between staff and infected patients, in a first for the North African country.

The tall, single-limbed machine is mounted on wheels and is capable of taking pulses and checking temperatures and blood oxygen levels.55 journalists have died from COVID-19 in 23 countries – NGO

“It allows a reduction in contact with the sick and therefore the risk of contaminating personnel,” said Nawel Besbes Chaouch, a doctor leading the pulmonary department at the Abderrahmane Memmi hospital in Ariana, near the capital Tunis. A screen mounted at the top of the robot enables audiovisual communication with patients, who in turn can see and recognise the faces of those caring for them – an impossibility when medics otherwise have to use full protective gear.

A website allows families to reserve a time slot for a virtual visit, where the robot is remote-controlled into the patient’s room to allow a video conversation.DOWNLOAD THE PUNCH NEWS APP NOW ON

The Name Nigeria sounds like Audio name. Imagine Tunisia developed into robotic service and nigeria government, ministers and DGs still dey practice zombie system of government. I haven't even seen a day Journalist organise a press conference to ask our government some questions

Who named us giant of Africa? With dimwits as leaders?

In this Africa? Nigeria government, Them dead!

Who did we offend in this Nigeria?.. See Madagascar, see Tunisia. Why is Nigeria always backwards🤧🤧😢😢

Lolzz... The way so africa countries are advancing eh very soon, just very soon, we won't see their back. Over here we are busy looting, our youth trend most on twitter enriching others, everyday the population is increasing. What a waste of human resources.

Nigeria when?

Please is Tunisia an African country? asking for the Nigerian govt pls.

Until we go our separate ways,we are headed no where, that's just the bitter truth

Nigerians are still busy designing small airplanes that the oyinbo designed in the late 19th century. From our educational system to power generation to job availability to social welfare to collective intelligence, Nigeria still ranks far lower than several African countries.

Nigeria is a joke 😂

Brilliant technology

Nigeria is a home of dreamer...we aint gonna get anything rigth for once

Nothing go be bro😅😅😅

Countries are really progressing. Here in Nigeria, its ASUU strike, Doctors strike, Govt lack focus, our Institutions are underfunded. We have a President who is more interested in Livesstock Transformation than Health, Education and Security reform. We keep praying.

Do you need rebots in a country that still has high rate of unemployment?

Good one Tunisia. These confused bounce of drama queens and kings in Nigeria masquerading as leaders have nothing to offer. One day na one day.

And naija is inventing buckets of water and liquid soap

Nigeria when

And we are here struggling with inadequate PPEs.

Nigeria will never relate

Tunisia again Which way Naija

Who needs it, you are being desensitized to accept the new world where you are being controlled by AI and computers... Nothing to be excited about. The covid19 does not require all this!! It's a 0.1% mortality virus. Doesn't deserve all this. But there's a higher desire. Control.

Artificial Intelligence at work.

Nigeria is still struggling from the shadows of our past

Nigeria govt is such a useless institutions.

Did we even have any robot in this country, I mean a Legged Robot. I don't even care of what it can do.

we are getting dere, lol

God why didn't u ask me 'Son, which country you wanna go?' Naija for empty...after we don browse about them finish for heaven.

We can never have such things in Nigeria it will be stolen by the government

Is Tunisia a country in Africa? I'm asking for a friend.

Are we are here struggling with inadequate PPEs

To be behind the world a time is more than pandemic of a thing

My analog country won't relate 😂😂😂

We are seeing innovations across some African countries: Senegal, Madagascar and now Tunisia. When are we coming out with our own?

Really..?

We don't even have 1 of such in Nigeria

Wow wow

Very innovative, I hope its effective though.

Deploy rebort as what?

Another African country excelling. God why did you put me here

Tunisia 🇹🇳 wow 😲 great 👍🏽
