Chelsea have identified Gabri Veiga from Celta Figo as a replacement for Mason Mount, who is Manchester United-bound.
Mount, an academy product at Stamford Bridge, is set to move to United this summer as the Blues continue their clear-out sales. The likes of N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, among others, have already left Stamford Bridge. The Evening Standard reports that Veiga is Chelsea’s top target for the attacking midfield position.
And the 21-year-old, who is available for £34.6 million due to a release clause in his Celta contract, has also been linked with Man City and Liverpool. The Spain Under-21 star got 11 goals and four assists in 40 games for Celta last season – including a brace in a 2-1 victory over LaLiga champions Barcelona on the final day of the season, which secured the club’s survival in Spain’s top flight.
