President Bola Tinubu says the conduct of the federal executive council (FEC) meeting should be held only when there are pressing issues.

Mohammed Idris, minister of information and culture, disclosed this to journalists during a press briefing on Tuesday.The last meeting was held on May 14, where the cabinet members, including other top presidential aides, took critical decisions on various economic issues.said the cabinet under President Tinubu may not hold weekly sessions as was the previous tradition, but would only meet when there are pressing issues to discuss.

At the resumed sitting currently underway, cabinet members were seen engaged in banters amongst themselves and other forms of networking before they went into a closed-door session for the commencement of deliberations.The FEC meeting is usually meant for the discussion of major economic and social issues and approvals of infrastructural projects.
