The Nigeria Labour Congress has stated that part of President Bola Tinubu’s “commitment” to the organised labour is that the government-owned refinery in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, will begin production by December. The NLC president, Joe Ajaero, stated this while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with the president on Tuesday in Abuja, adding that the labour leaders had thoroughly examined the proposed measures put forward by the presidency.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the NLC and the Trade Union Congress said they would return to the dialogue process after the meeting with Tinubu, which suggested an end to their nationwide protests. “He promised to unveil a workable roadmap to the CNG alternative next week. On the strength of the President’s pledge and commitment, we have decided for a return to a new and reinvigorated dialogue process to allow for full implementation.
