Tinubu is the ONLY candidate I have heard or seen talk or write about the need for government to pursue full employment as a strategy.

position. The misery index is an addition of inflation and unemployment, and I will provide a few of the evidences in this article. Now, when he declared his ambition to run for president on May 4, Governor Kayode Fayemi was asked a question about employment, to which he gave the cliched response that government’s role was not to provide employment, but to provide the enabling environment for the creation of employment. This is an emotive issue for me.

talk or write about the need for government to pursue full employment as a strategy. None of the other people have tried. Peter Obi said the core thing to do is to focus on small and medium enterprises . But Nigeria has also been pursuing the SME strategy for decades now with negative results. Tinubu has specifically mentioned and several times too, in his colloquia, that there is a need to moderately close the economy to the influx of imports, to give Nigeria a breather to organise herself and be able to produce the things our people need. He stated clearly that this is what the developed nations did. And he is very right.

This is such an in depth op-ed by topefasua. I am glad no part of it spoke directly about corruption. I think this isn't about BAT alone, all the presidential aspirants should see this article as a blueprint if they mean well for Nigeria.

This is a poorly written article, with a lot of academical jargons.
