The kidnapped monarch is the traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi autonomous community in the state's Nkwerre Local Government Area.
He was kidnapped in front of one of his businesses in Owerri, the state capital, around 7pm on Friday, Daily Trust reports. SaharaReporters had reported several gunmen attacks in the state. Only in August, four policemen were killed when some gunmen invaded Agwa Divisional Police headquarters in the Oguta Local Government Area.
