Tension as NLC appoints interim Labour Party chairman

The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party has rejected the appointment of an interim chairman of the party in Gombe State by the Nigeria Labour Congress .Similarly, the Julius Abure faction disclosed that it was not aware of the appointment of an interim chairman, adding that it already had a substantive state chairman in Gombe.

“His appointment is for the period up till the conduct of local government elections in Gombe State. Thereafter, a more substantive state transition committee of the Labour Party in Gombe State will be constituted. “Already, we have warned them not to disobey the constitution of our party. They are merely a pressure group.
