Amamzilla John Danladi Joseph, Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba, has revealed plans to restore forests in the area.
The chairman said that “in no distance time, the fast depliting forest reverses spread across the council would be restored to bring back its lost glory, as the most naturally endowed local government council in the state” while flagging off the second phase of 10,000 tree seedlings planting campaign in the area.
The ongoing tree planting which DAILY POST gathered to have been in conjunction with the state Ministry of Environment and the Process Woods Producer and Marketers Association of Nigeria, the chairman said would be carried out across all the forest reserves in the council. The council, in conjunction with the state government, as well as the aforementioned ministry, he said will not leave any stone unturned, he said will work tirelessly round the clock to nurtured the already planted trees to maturity.
