Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has called for more attention to the nation’s insecurity, saying that overcoming

‘Mass Killings Now New Normal In Nigeria’Dogara made the call in his keynote address at a peace and development summit in Abuja organised by the Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace and Development Studies. It was themed “Peace and Development in Nigeria: the pragmatic approach.”

“This is what should concern every patriotic Nigerian at the moment, not scheming for future elections. All efforts of patriotic citizens must be geared towards stopping our dear country from the ongoing death by a thousand cuts. “As students, lecturers and political leaders, some of us are complicit while the few who have dared to speak up are already outraged–fatigued and have surrendered to fatalism –a feeling that nothing matters anymore. It is like Nigeria seems to be suffering from some kind of God-ordained ineluctable fate.As long as we are not actively engaged in seeking solutions to these intractable issues, we are actually, wittingly or unwittingly, actively promoting it,” Dogara lamented.

“Attacks are unrelenting and there appears to be no end in sight. The situation has clearly gotten out of hand, following the repeated overrun of military formations by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, wanton killings and kidnap for ransom and mass abduction of school children in different parts of the country.

Afenifere Vows To Lead Yoruba Nation To Demand Nigeria's Restructuring Before 'Fraudulent 2023 Elections' | Sahara ReportersThe 93-year-old chieftain stated this while addressing the press at the Wheat Baker Hotel in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State on Thursday. Afenifere itself is a fraud🤷‍♂️.... bunch of ppl, looking for unnecessary recognition nd fighting for there pockets 💯... The most educated tribe nd arguably the best tribe in Nigeria 🤦‍♂️💔... look at us🤔.. lemme go n listen to Pa Ogunde's track jare that says 'Yorùbá, Ronú'😥 Afenifere leaders should please urge on Ohanaeze, Pandef and Middle Belt leaders to key in to its vision of Restructuring before the 2023 general elections. Regionalism and true federalism, to way to peaceful and united Nigeria. The rush for another round of elections fraudulent. If they can do it it will be good but pls let it not be like 2019. The mantra of 2019 was, 'no restructuring no election' but when it's time for election all vows was forgotten people went ignorantly & renewed Fulanis legal instruments in enslaving us. Let vows stand this time.
